I’m honored to be your candidate for State Representative for the 35th District, representing Clinton, Westbrook, and Killingworth. I’m running because our community deserves strong, compassionate leadership—someone who will ensure our voices are heard, and our needs are met in Hartford.
As a Clinton native and Morgan graduate, I care deeply about improving our education system, expanding access to women’s healthcare and healthcare rights, and addressing long-neglected infrastructure issues. I’ve seen our district’s challenges and believe that by working together, we can overcome them.
Locally, I serve on Clinton’s Water Pollution Control and Planning and Zoning Commissions, where I’ve witnessed how thoughtful, proactive representation can improve our daily lives. I’m committed to bringing that same dedication to the State Legislature. I’m asking for your support because we can make a difference. I’m asking for your vote because I’m committed to being the leader our community needs. Together, we can build a better 35th district.
Let’s move forward with leadership that works for all of us on November 5th!

EDUCATION
CREATING MULTIPLE PATHWAYS TO A LIVING AND POLICY FOR 21ST CENTURY STUDENT NEEDS
As someone who has dedicated over 15 years to education policy, advocacy and teaching- education will be one of my top priorities as your state representative.
As a teacher, I am very passionate about education and want to continue to uplift our students so they feel confident in having multiple pathways available to them after high school. I feel that we did a disservice to our youth in the 80's and 90's when we pushed students to 4 year colleges or military and started to diminish the significance of our trades, apprenticeships and vocational opportunities. We should help students understand that there are multiple pathways to a living and financial success by ensuring that we introduce them to trades, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship.
Having worked in education policy- I have created policy briefs for community and non-profit organizations on creating college-career ready diplomas, policies that make sense at the ground level for school districts and teachers alike.
With high teacher retirement and attrition rates, we need to ensure that students have the most qualified teachers in our classrooms. I am in support of raising teacher and para-educator minimum salaries across the state to ensure that every teacher earns a livable wage and we can attract and retain top talent into the education field.

WOMEN'S HEALTHCARE
MORE THAN ROE
As a woman and a mother, women's healthcare and healthcare rights are at the forefront of my mind-especially in a post Roe world. Our legislature needs to ensure that we are not only protecting women and their healthcare rights, but that we are addressing inequities in our healthcare system that many women are facing.
As an advocate for women's reproductive rights and your state legislator, I look forward to expanding state laws that seek to codify women's rights to contraception, IVF, frozen embryos and eggs.
Breast cancer is the second leading killer of women in the country. One out of eight women is the new statistic. We need to ensure that all women have access and coverage to the one thing that can save their lives and that is early detection with mammograms and ultrasounds. I have spoken to too many women in our community who have lost their daughters, mothers, and colleagues or have personally fought their own battles against breast cancer. As your legislator, I will fight to ensure that all women have the access and coverage at younger ages to ensure that we stop breast cancer from claiming the women in our lives.

INFRASTRUCTURE
SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESSES & FORTIFYING OUR AGING INFRASTRUCTURE
After joining Clinton's Water Pollution Control Commission and speaking with residents across the district it is very clear that the district has infrastructural needs that have gone unaddressed. From aging and outdated septics that fail time and time again, to school buildings that are in desperate need of updating.
As someone who has worked in procuring both state and federal grants for a national non-profit, I will help our town leaders apply for state and federal grant dollars like those available through the CT Department of Transportation and federal infrastructure programs. I have already taken on this challenge as a member of Clinton's Water Pollution Control Commission- where we advocated and applied for a $500,000 Congressional Spending grant for the town's downtown wastewater treatment facility design phase, so that we can finally address the town's 30 plus year consent order from the State.
I would also introduce or co-sponsor bills to allocate state funds for infrastructure projects that help to repair our roads, bridges, and schools. I will work with our legislative leaders during the budget process to ensure that our district receives adequate funding for our district's necessary infrastructure improvements.
As a member of Clinton's Planning and Zoning commission-I have gained invaluable experience working on updating P& Z regulations and working to develop the Plan of Conservation and Development- which will lay the ground work for the vision of the town over the next 10 years. As a legislator, I will continue that work contributing to long-term infrastructure by supporting and developing comprehensive state infrastructure plans that focus on future growth, sustainability, and resilience.
